About

Those seeking an intimate winery experience away from all the crowds should visit this tiny, rustic tasting room in Southold.
One Woman Wines & Vineyards is a quintessential North Fork tasting room that’s less than 160 square feet and doesn’t allow large groups or limos during business hours. Despite the tasting room’s size, customers experience a relaxing and informative tasting experience of unique varietals.
Claudia Purita — owner, vineyard manager and winemaker — focuses on fruit quality and cultivates the best grapes. Not many winemakers are also vineyard managers, which provides her with an unsurpassed level of quality control.
The winery is also passionate about sustainability. It was one of the first vineyards to be certified sustainable by Long Island Sustainable Winegrowing in 2012. In addition, Cornell University Long Island Horticulture Research and Extension Center trials organic viticulture practices at One Woman.
The tasting room, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, is featuring a limited production of two new single varietal wines — pinot noir and chenin blanc. The winery has also added an outdoor bar and courtyard seating area.
Leashed pets and outside food are allowed. No outside alcohol. Large groups, limos and buses may book reservations before business hours.
